Tonga Power Limited Enhances Customer Service with a New Phone System

Nuku’alofa, Tonga – February 7, 2025 – TPL recognizes the importance of maintaining excellent customer service across all its communication channels. In line with this commitment, Tonga Power Limited (TPL) is introducing a new and improved phone system designed to provide faster response times, more efficient call routing, and seamless access to essential services. The upgraded system is set to go live on Monday, February 10, 2025.

As part of this upgrade, TPL is introducing a new toll-free contact number: 0800-123, allowing customers to connect directly with the appropriate department. The phone system provides the following menu options:

New Phone System Menu & Services:

•             Press 1 – Power Bills

For bill inquiries, statement requests, payment assistance, and charge clarifications.

•             Press 2 – New Connections

Assistance with applying for new electricity connections.

•             Press 3 – Disconnection/Reconnection

Assistance with Power disconnection and reconnection requests.

•             Press 4 – Faults (Available 24/7)

Report power outages, voltage fluctuations, damaged power lines, faulty streetlights, or other electrical hazards. Urgent safety concerns should also be reported to emergency services.

•             Press 5 – Repeat Options

Replay the menu options.

•             Press 0 or stay on the line – Reception & General Inquiries

For all other inquiries or to speak with a customer service representative.

"By streamlining our phone system, we aim to enhance customer experience, improve response times, and ensure that every caller is directed to the right department as efficiently as possible”.

 

Operating Hours:

The new phone system will be available during standard business hours, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with Faults (Option 4) and Disconnection/Reconnection (Option 3) remaining available 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted support for urgent issues.

TPL encourages all customers to familiarize themselves with the new system and reach out with any questions or concerns. With this upgrade, TPL aims to further improve the quality and responsiveness of its services, ensuring a smoother and more efficient customer experience.

TPL’s existing contact numbers, including the emergency numbers 944 and 28344, will remain available for the time being as customers transition to the new toll-free number 0800-123
