As part of their community engagement programs, the Mate Ma’a Tonga today visited various primary schools in Tongatapu.
Four “cool” Mate Ma’a Tonga guys made the school student’s day at Puke Primary School.
Siua Taukei’aho, ‘Ata Hingano, Daniel Tupou and Tevita Pangai visited the young fans today where they delivered words of encouragement to the students and distributed jerseys, rugby water bottles, books and hats amongst other gifts.
The Mate Ma’a Tonga boys were pleased and humbled with the warm welcome from the teachers and students of the Puke Primary School.
“It is a pleasure to be here today. I just want to say that the path to becoming a successful rugby player is to be committed and train hard”, said Daniel Tupou.
“Never give up on your dreams of becoming a rugby player. Do well in school and work hard”, added ‘Ala Hingano.
The school principal, ‘Oto’ota Siale said, “ It is absolutely wonderful to see the Mate Ma’a Tonga Team engaging with the community during their short time here in Tonga”.
She said, some of the students look up to the Mate Ma’a Tonga boys and envision themselves as being in the team one day.
The school ended the program with an astounding performance of the Sipi Tau (War Dance).
The community engagement programme today was organized by the Tonga National Rugby League with assistance from Tonga Power Ltd, Tonga Communications Co-operation and the Ministry of Tourism.
